Lithuania: Poker was classified as a sport
The question to know if poker is a game of skill or gambling has been debated for long years, and continues to nurture the conversation in all countries. Some countries accept that poker is now considered as a sport and the luck don't intervened in the game than very few, but many countries do not yet recognize the poker itself. The discussion on the subject is closed for Lithuania to the delight of poker enthusiasts from across the country. Indeed the Department of Physical Education and Sports has released a formal statement endorsing the Lithuanian Federation of Poker (LSPF). And the good news mean that poker is now branching further into the world of sport, if it was only confined to casinos and trade event before.
This announcement means that the LSPF has more leeway in terms of organizing tournaments. The President of this federation was pretty happy with the decision. "This is extremely important in our work. We received congratulations from many of our colleagues abroad and I know that we break the ice and we hope similar international initiatives. For the next month, LSPF will hold what they call "the inaugural event of the LSPF" to be held in Vilnius from April 24 to 26. If one believes in the prediction of its chairman, the event will be the biggest poker tournament of all the nations of the Baltic.
