Hollywood Poker Open WPT: Only 144 players in the Lawrenceburg tournament
Great poker players have certainly had some trouble to accept the fact that the WPT Hollywood Poker Open have been played in Kentucky, in the County of Lawrenceburg, rather than Hollywood. Indeed, it seems that there has not been as much fervor as in previous editions for participation in this meeting. Indeed, the organizers of this tournament have been a little disappointed because the championship registered a small field of 144 players characterized only by players from county residents and have some poker enthusiasts WPT. Despite this success somewhat disappointing, the Day 1 of the championship was still well past leaving Eric Froehlich instead of chip leader with a stack of 149,400 chips to some talented players and titled as Gavin Smith, Jonathan Little, the owner of a WSOP bracelet Brock Parker, the defending champion of NAPT Venetian Tom Marchese and many other enthusiasts of the game.
Froehlich has already accomplished a good career as a professional poker player because he has managed to achieve in the fourth place at the WPT Foxwoods World Poker Finals in Mashantucket and also two victories in the WSOP events in 2005 and 2006, giving him two bracelets. The Hollywood Casino of Lawrenceburg have received in the day Day2 of this great tournament a field reduced to 96 players. After the second day, there have been more than a dozen competitors in the race for the title fight of the tournament. The players who scored in the top ten of the moment are Farah Jaka with 144,225 chips in hand followed by Mike Moustaffa with 114,050 chips, Gevork Kasabyan, Jess Yawitz, Shawn Buchanan, Billy Pilossoph Richard Pflum, Carlos Mortensen and Larry Limpman.
