National Heads-Up Championship Poker: Annie Duke becomes the 1st woman to win it
Annie Duke has been basking in the sixth annual National Heads-Up Poker Championship held in Las Vegas, famous poker room at Caesars Palace. This tournament join together the best player of poker. Erik Seidel, who won eight Bracelets World Series of Poker and occupies the 9th place of prize money for tournaments of all time, was the last obstacle to the title for Annie Duke. This first place allows to the player to pocket the sum of $ 500,000 while Erik Seide just $ 250,000 for second place. She becomes the first woman to win an edition of NHUPC.
"I am so excited to win a so prestigious event and to succeed people like Huck Seed, Chris Ferguson and Phil Hellmuth," she said. A long the last five editions of NHUPC, Duke have never passed the second round. During the 3 days of competition, she had eliminated the top players like Andy Bloch, Darvin Moon, Paul Wasicka, Jerry Yang and Dennis Phillips. 64 players came to take the start of the 6th edition of NHUPC and they clashed in a series of match head-to-head Texas Hold'em No Limi and which purpose was to determine the best of Heads-Up the world. This NHUPC was recorded for future broadcasts on NBC.
