Domain Name: The sale of Poker.org reached an historic record
The Washington Post has published last Thursday that the Internet platform Sedo, the world leader in selling of online domain names, announced that it had supervised the sale of the domain name Poker.org for 1 million dollars. This is the biggest sale of a domain name. org at this date. The domaine was sold by the firm National A1. The buyer of this domain is PokerCompany.com a « Super Affiliate » which works with online casinos and poker rooms. The company exploit also a few websites. Currently, the owner has given no indication of his plans to do with the field Poker.org.
« Poker.org is an integral part of our growth strategy and will provide significant benefits now and in the future », said a spokesperson of the acquiring company. Before this record of Poker.org, the most expensive domain name. org was Engineering.org which was sold at $198,000, followed by Sexe.org, which has sold $ 151,400. But the selling price of Poker.org may seem low if we compare to the selling price of .com, the domain name Sex.com was negotiated $14 million, 10 million dollars for Fund.com, 5.1 million dollars for Toys.com and 3 million dollars for Candy.com. Domain names of poker which are for sale are plenty on the Internet; they range from hundreds to tens of thousands of dollars. There are some specialized sites in the poker domain names.
