EPT Copenhagen, Day 1 A: Andrew Pantling leads the tournament
Since Tuesday, February the16th, the European Poker Tour made a stop in the Danish capital. The organizers announced the stopover as complete but the Day 1A of the European Poker Tour Copenhagen has been marked by a large number of empty seats. They were only 191 participants to start the day. This first day has left 133 survivors. The day ended with a beautiful performance of the Canadian Andrew Pantling, chip leader who ended the competition with 155,800 chips. Among these survivors, there are some French as Kerignard Yoran who is the head of French players with 79,000 chips. He is followed very closely by Régis Burlot, runner-up of the Warsaw Open on last December and Arnaud Mattern, three players are between the 17th and the 21st place.
The big French disappointment was Thomas Bichon, the winner of the last Word Poker Tour (WPT) who cant continue the adventure in Denmark. Players like Annette Obrestad, Dario Minieri, Jan Skampa Anton Wigg, Cornel Cimpan, the runner-up of the previous edition Rasmus Nielsen and a finalist Peter Hedlund discussed this day 1 with more or less success. 200 players were expected to the Day 1B which began Wednesday. The world champion 2008: Peter Eastgate, and his teammates: Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Noah Boeken, William Thorson and the record holder of cashes in EPT: Luca Pagano and other French as Tristan Clémençon are announced for the Day 1B.
