Pyrenees-Atlantiques: The fever of poker reaches the city of Pau
The fever of poker continues to gain the French regions and cities, and the interest for this game continues to increase. At the city of Pau, the number of people who are attracted by poker increase every day. The tables of this card game have flooded the capital of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques and its surrounds. Poker nights have taken the place of traditional board games. These improvised poker competitions brush sometimes illegality. But money is not always the engine; the pleasure of competition has its responsibility to. It even happens that the habitants of Pau combine poker and good cause. As recently this weekend, the Association Paloise poker had organized two charity tournaments where money did not have its place. Created three years ago, the Association Pau Poker currently has more than 120 members, the majority of its members are men in their thirties, but we can identify some women in search of thrills.
The big news for this year is that now the association will send six of its members in the championships in Brest France, where no less than 150 poker clubs will be present. The president of the club of Pau himself admits that Pau has very good players who are placed among the best. He has the big dream for his club. Franck Denizot does not exclude the establishment of a professional team in the next few years. But first, the club has yet to face the French legislation which does not give them enough advantage. Sponsorship by foreign web sites is not well seen by the law in application in France.
