EPT Deauville: Victoria Coren criticizes the organization
Victoria Coren is used to speak in a very frank way, without making turnings. Yesterday, she criticized with virulence the poor level of the 2010 European Poker Tour of Deauville. A low level that she allots on one hand to a bad appreciation of the calendar from the organizers. This woman having several functions, at the same time writer, television presenter and incidentally player of poker at her lost hours did not make a gift to the organizers. Just after the closure of the EPT of Deauville, she attacked with vehemence in the Guardian on the way in which the French poker player and the way in which they approach this game. According to her, the organizers did not know how to choose a more favorable date because the date of the tournament of Deauville coincides with the Aussie Millions and Deauville is not a very popular place in front of large American players who prefer to make an escapade in the English capital or in Barcelona.
The geographical position of Deauville pose problem, the place is so far for the Scandinavian players, and the tournament become almost a Franco-French tournament. At the end, she did not forget to emit small critics with regard to the French players whom she describes as simple gamblers who do not control all the subtlety of poker. However, she admitted that the country counts good players. Victoria Coren enter in the activity life very early when she had 15 years old; she gained a competition to write weekly a column in a newspaper. Her eldest brother initiated her in the poker, approximately six months later. Since, her time is shared between her two passions, the writing and the poker.
