Daniel Negreanu: The player with the biggest earnings in live tournament
Until know, the title of the largest profit accumulated in live poker tournament was allotted to Jamie Gold, rich Hollywood film producer and amateur of poker. He won 12 million dollars when he won the Main Event of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in 2006, added to that the few paid places which he had in other less important tournaments. The total of his profits is 12,198,041 $. But since the Main Event of the World Series of Poker in 2006, Jamie Gold was not able to impose himself in another tournament. This rich producer was followed by many players of poker pro, who, without winning a big jackpot, multiplied their performances on the circuit.
The two more serious applicants for the title were the American Phil Ivey and the Canadian Daniel Negreanu. The American made the 2009 WSOP a memorable event during which he received two bracelets; one in 2-7 Lowball and the other in Omaha/Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo, and his qualification for the finale of the Main Event. A seventh place in this championship was enough for him to have the title for Jamie Gold. But it was not the case. Everyone turns oneself towards Kid Poker then, a player who didnt win any Event, but in spite he had made a very good WSOP. He enters 8 times in paid places and two tables final. And its second place in the World Series of Poker Europe enabled him to cumulate 12,427,047 $ of gain in tournament and relegate then Jamie Gold to the second place. For French players, Bertrand ElkY Grospellier who is in the 34th place of the largest profits in tournament is the first of this classification with 3,871,735 $.
