Shark Out of Water: Phil Helmuth passes in front of the camera
The usual itinerary of a poker player was limited before to the writing of a book of poker or to the animation on TV of an important event of poker. But that is currently changing because players invest themselves in other fields such as cinema. While speaking about cinema, a new film which speaks about poker was just released for some time. This film which title is Shark Out of Water speaks about the life of two inveterate players of poker who fight perpetually against their dependence to gambling. Phil The Poker Brat Hellmuth and Brad Booth interpret their own role in this film. The film which lasts approximately 18 minutes was a true success in North America with four nominations in the 2009 Leo Awards, for the best dramatic short film, the best realization, the best performance and the best music.
The film turns around the addiction to the poker and speaks openly about this dependence. The effect of addiction on gambling on the psychology and the life of players is put in foreground on this film. The director of the film plunges spectators in the world of doped play. The participation of the two great names of the modern poker, Brad Booth and Phil Hellmuth Jr, accentuates still a little more the reality of the film. No projection in obscure rooms is in the program because the film will be available only in DVD at the price of $9.95. It will be possible for every enthusiast of poker to order the DVD but only in English version, for that, you have just to go on the official website: www.sharkoutofwater.com.
