Televised diffusion of the WPT: Canal+ denied its ending
For a few days, it circulates on Internet and in traditional media that the French chains of television, Canal+, which had the rights of retransmission of the World Poker Tour (WPT) intended to stop its diffusion even if the emission had a large audience at the time of the last season of World Poker Tour. For recall, it is this emission presented by Patrick Bruel who contributed to the popularization of poker in France. It is partly thanks to Patrick Bruel that the poker knows this enormous passion today. And hundreds of thousands of players put themselves at poker thanks to looking at this emission. Even if the popularity of the World Poker Tour in France and that of Patrick Bruel is not any more to contradict, rumors say that the chains holder of the rights of the emission would have evoked a too high cost to decide the ending of the diffusion of the next seasons of the World Poker Tour.
In the place of the World Poker Tour, there would be new emissions of poker such as Stars of Poker, a kind of televised reality show but this time dedicated to the poker, an emission envisaged from December 2009. This denial of Canal+ does not bring more information to us. Anyone cannot affirm with certainty today if the World Poker Tour will be well diffused on Canal Plus next year and, if so, Patrick Bruel will still comment on the emission. To finish, it was known that it is a reputed room of online poker which gained the world exclusiveness of the rights of diffusion of the Season 7 of the WPT and TV Station which want to diffuse this emission in France thus have a new interlocutor.
