World record in poker Heads' up: Smashed by Paul Zimbler

Poker is doubtless one of the disciplines which abound in records of all kinds. The latest is the one established by Paul Zimbler outside the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) which takes place now in the English capital. The professional English poker player has just smashed the record of the world longest set of Heads up's. The man played during more than 74 hours in a row, 8 minutes better than Dave Caine. This new exploit was made with the aim of raising funds for the benefit of the Foundation Make-A-Wish. At the end of the series of competition, Paul Zimbler posted 183 contests on his counter. Even more surprising matter, in spite of the exhaustion left by 4 consecutive days of poker he recorded only 82 defeats among 101 victories. Big sizes of poker as Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth or Mike Matusow came to face Zimbler.

It was necessary to pay at least £10 to challenge Zimbler, but in a dash of solidarity, players gave much more. The official partner of the World Series of poker Europe had offered 5,000 dollars donation to the Foundation. Thanks to poker players, £35,000 was collected during these four charitable days. Make-A-Wish is a foundation which fulfils the desires of children throughout the world which have grave diseases. In 29 years of existence it had realized 1,600,000 children's wishes. Numerous volunteers, sponsors contributed in this beautiful realization.
