Australian TV station: Joe Hachem to animate a reality show
Since the popularization of poker, the world broadcasting scene abounds in emissions about this game. The Australian television channel "One" will offer to its TV viewers a new broadcast emission on poker, the first episode will be screened on Saturday the 26th September. It is the ancient Australian world champion Joe Hachem (winner of the Main Event of the 2005 World Series of Poker) who will animate this new show baptized "The Poker Star". This reality TV has for ambition to reveal the new champion of the Australian world. As in most of reality TV show, candidates will have to live in the same place during all the duration of the emission. Various events will be proposed to them until the explosion of the bubble or when there will be only a single survivor. More than 18,000 candidates appeared in the castings for the emission which was realised in entire Australia.
To claim in conformance with the future star of the Australian poker (or even world), the candidate will have to have outstanding qualities. Besides of being very good at poker which means to have a good reading of players around table and to know how to calculate well cards, the future star will owe also to be someone who symbolizes the modern poker. The emission "The Poker Star" promises to the winner a 100,000-dollar check and participation during one year in major tournaments of the professional circuit. For those who do not know Joe Hachem, he is a symbolic figure of the world poker. He is one of the rare players who have amassed more than 10 millions dollars of gains in tournament. His first big gain was a colossal 7,500,000 $ prize gained in one time.
