"Poker Tournament for Advanced Players": Published in French version
"Poker de Tournoi Plus" is the title given to the French translation of the American best-seller "Poker Tournament for Advanced Players ". The book was translated into French by François Montmirel who is used to translate American illustrious author like David Sklansky. Sklanskys books became for some years a reference in gambling game field. The author is himself a professional of the game and an eminent scientist; he practises poker for almost four decades. His professional career was marked by 3 bracelets of the World Series of poker (WSOP). The original version published in 2002 was republished at the end of 2007 after some updates. The book which is a logical result of "Poker Theory" is intended for rather advanced players of poker who already have a certain experience of game.
The work of 416 pages proposes to readers 290 small questions and about sixty exercises. Among topics talked in this book: famous Gap Concept, how to build a big stack, to concentrate on weak opponents, but also the strategy of "all-in". "Poker Tournament for Advanced Players" is considered in the United States as the best work dedicated to poker competition. The book reveals strategies of tournament mastered only by few players. Chance has only a minor influence in the game, what explains to us why final tables of the Main Event register essentially, every year, the same players.
