Partouche Poker Tour: Antoine Saout, eliminated for the finale
After several tournaments through France, the last step of Partouche Poker Tour Season II took place at Palm Beach casino of Cannes on Sunday, September the 6th, 2009. For this second season, the Partouche group offered once again a memorable event of poker. This, in spite of a lukewarm pre-tournament and American stars less numerous than during the season I. But international stars as Phil Laak, Antonio Esfiandari, Erik Seidel, Roland De Wolfe or also Noah Schwartz and Mike Matusow had answered all the same about their presence in this French appointment. The name of new finalists who will participate to the Main Event on November is henceforth known.
The prodigy of poker Antoine Saout dominated literally at the same time the tournament and the stack classification, Saout was the chipleader during three consecutive days. He was thus able to dream about a doublet November Nine which are WSOP and PPT. But it was a short-term dream because the Breton was stopped in his ascent by the Swedish Michael Tureniec. The Frenchman, probably confronted into enormous pressures, paid Tureniecs stack in the river and was eliminated by a spade queen. He finishes at the 28th position and the Swedish was moved to the first place with the favourite status for the November Main Event. Concerning the other French favourites players, Alain Roy was eliminated during the Day1A and Antonion Teisseire had a stack which stagnated. 9 players will come back to Palm Beach Casino of Cannes on November the 21st, 2009 for the final table. A French victory is still probable for this tournament.
