IPT San Remo: Won by the Swedish Ramzi Jelassi
This weekend, the surprise came from Ramzi Jelazzi during the San Remo stage of the Italian Poker Tour (EPT). Indeed, the young Swedish poker player 22 years old has just won the Main Event of the Italian Poker Tour. Even if the event could entice only Italian players, the final table of this last edition was constituted by 90 % of Italians. Ramzi Jelazzi was the only one non Italian having seat around the table. In spite of the language barrier, the young Swedish dominated his opponents with a very aggressive game, characteristic of Scandinavian players. During his interview, he considered the competition as "easy". Ramzi Jelassi began the final table as chipleader, with a stack of 1,258,000 and confirms his status of chipleader by this victory. By the way of crowning, a check of 170,000 was awarded to him.
After his success during a side event in European Poker Tour of Prague 2008, Ramzi Jelazzi achieves there the biggest gain of his professional career. San Remo stage confirms the success of the Italian Poker Tour. If the previous stage had enticed only 255 players, 370 players came to play in San Remo providing more than 700,000 of prize pool. For its next stage, Italian Poker Tour will take the destination of Nova Gorica, in Slovenia. This stage will take place on the 8th till the 12th of October with a 2,200 tournament.
