Cannes Film Festival: Charitable poker tournament on May 17th.
To take an advantage of the celebrities of cinema during the 62nd edition of the Cannes Film Festival, which will take place from 13th to 24th, "Wilheim & Karl Maybach" and "Sunflower Children" foundations decided to reproduce the setting up of a charitable poker tournament. In order to collect funds to finance these two associations' activities, the great stars playing poker, businessmen but also, simple enthusiasts of this game are invited to attend this party. The event will take place on May 17th at Cap-Eden-Roc hotel. The realizer and scenario writer Edward Norton, a great poker player known for his numerous films like "The Rounders", one of the famous films talking about poker, will be the main guest of this charitable tournament. But, Norton won't be the only star and main guest at this event. Jamie Gold, the winner of the Main Event of World Series of Poker 2006 and who won the greatest prize never heard in poker history with nearly $12 million answered too to « Wilhelm & Karl Maybach » and « Sunflower Children » foundations invitation, for this tournament. Even if a large part of the collected funds will be dedicated to charity, the winner of this competition will receive an entrance ticket for the WSOP 2009, a flight for Las Vegas and accommodation expenses. Personal coaching from Gold will be also furnished to the winner to prepare him for this great contest.
