Student Teaches Pro Poker Player a Lesson with PartyPoker.com Million V Win
Come hell or high waters, 528 poker aficionados took to the open seas for this year's PartyPoker.com Millions tournament aboard the MS Westerdam. The $10,000 buy-in PartyPoker.com Million V paid out winnings to no fewer than 99 of its participants. Nonetheless, isolated major players actually made it to that point, one of them being Kenna James, who finished the tournament in second place. James' hopes for the million-dollar top prize were dashed by 22-year-old university student Mike Schneider. For his efforts, James got to take home a neat little $700,000. In addition to James, Schneider, a student at the University of Minnesota, outlasted a whole crop of poker celebrities, including Barry Greenstein, Joe Sebok, and Amir Vahedi, as well as defending champion Michael Gracz.
