The World Poker Tour Gets High-Tech with Artificial Intelligence Video Game Debuting on PSP
The World Poker Tour is officially moving from living room television sets across the nation to a PlayStation Portable (PSP) near you. 2K Sports, a brand from the house of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc., announced that poker video gamers can expect the PSP version of the WPT video game to hit the shelves this spring. With Take Two's WPT game, players can find themselves in some of the top tournaments and biggest casinos in the world. WPT for the PSP utilizes artificial intelligence technology, making the computerized opponents (all 1,200 of them) around the virtual table and their gameplay more lifelike. Each character has been given his or her own personality and playing style, to make human players forget that opponents are just computerized approximations of flesh and blood players. In addition, several poker pros appear as characters in the game, including Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi, Antonio "the Magician" Esfandiari, Evelyn Ng, Erick Lindgren, Lyle Berman, and Phil "Unabomber" Laak. Should players still crave real human interaction, however, the game gives them the option of taking their game online.
