New Online Poker Network Announced by Chartwell Technology
Online and mobile gaming software provider Chartwell Technology Inc. announced that it had licensed its online poker software to power a new network of poker sites. PokerNexus (www.pokernexus.com) is a fledgling network of independent online poker rooms that already includes two European sites. Chartwell said that it hopes to add another several sites to the network by the close of the company's fiscal year. The network is managed by Eliteclub Management N.V., and powered by Chartwell's software, complete with its back-end solutions. In May, Chartwell announced its acquisition of online gaming software developer Micropower Corporation, which has allowed it to launch the new online poker network. "The acquisition of Micropower met two key objectives of our poker strategy", explained Chartwell President and CEO Darold Parken. "By adding advanced poker software and a greatly expanded poker team, we have enabled the Company to launch a feature-rich, scalable product that meets the needs of all of our clients. Success for Chartwell in the online poker industry requires this new technology platform built on a unique business model with which our clients can capitalize on this exciting gaming segment. We are confident that our new poker community launch provides the perfect environment for success. We anticipate poker related revenues to be a substantial contributor to Chartwell's over-all revenue in the years to follow."
