Poker School Online Hosts Charity Tournament for Ailing Member
Online poker tutorial service PokerSchoolOnline.com (PSO) recently sponsored a charity tournament to benefit one of the site's members, who is currently undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer. The site's founders discovered that David Wolner had been diagnosed with the disease and thus decided to organize an online poker tournament to help his foot the steep cost of his treatment. The no-limit hold'em tournament raised more than $5,000, which was funneled directly to Wolner. In addition to the tournament's proceeds, PSO added an extra $1,000, making the total donation over $6,000. The tournament, which was hosted in cooperation with online poker room BugsysClub.com, attracted close to 200 players.
