Online Poker Dominates Panel Discussion at Harvard Law Poker Event
Harvard Law School recently hosted a panel event entitled Going All In: Poker and The Law" which discussed issues ranging from legal issues to playing strategy. Poker players and legal professionals convened to discuss issues facing poker. The discussion largely focused on the debate surrounding online poker and gambling. Panelists included two lawyers, a pro-online gambling lobbyist, and a professional poker player. The general climate of the discussion encouraged reform in online gaming policies. According to some of the panelists, current legislation is ambiguous in its implications for online gambling, and the nature of gambling online makes any regulations difficult to enforce. Another source of criticism on the part of the panelists was the restrictions imposed by casinos and other gambling organizations, such as the World Poker Tour (WPT). Following the panel discussion, a group of poker experts shared their poker strategy tips and insights with the audience.
