Harrah's Stays with Pilson Communications
Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. announced that it will continue to work with Pilson Communications, Inc., a sports television consulting firm, to continue expansions for Harrah's World Series of Poker. Harrah's will also enlist Pilson Communications for its planned renegotiations with ESPN, which is responsible for production and broadcast of televised portions of the tournament. The current contract was drafted before Harrah's acquired the World Series of Poker in the previous year. Pilson Communications is managed by the former president of CBS Sports, Neal H. Pilson. Since its establishment in 1995, the firm's accolades have included oversight of a $2.4 billion network television agreement for NASCAR, as well as a $2 billion deal between the International Olympic Committee and NBC. Both Harrah's and Pilson Communications have expressed their anticipation of the union's future successes. Harrah's and its subsidiaries own of manage 28 US casinos, most of which operate under the Harrah's and Horseshoe brand names.
