Ognyan Dimov hit the top prize - EPT Deauville Main Event
After 12 days of hard-boiled poker battle at Casino Barrière Deauville, The Norman stop of the European Poker Tour (EPT) concluded with the victory of Bulgarias Ognyan Dimov. Ognyan actually bests a gigantic field of 591 players to cash the 543,700 first-place prize. He really dominated the final table during which he easily knocked Frenchies Benjamin Buhr, Benjamin Pollak and Joseph Carlino out. Joseph Carlino early headed to the poker tournament exit after only one hand. Fallen to 6th place, the Frenchman walked away with 115,650. Fifteen hands later, Lithuanias Andrius Bielskis hit the rail for 147,760 (5th place).
As for Benjamin Pollak, he fell to 4th place; any way, he earned 187,550, an additional six-digit score to his final-table earning few weeks earlier in the Bahamas (PCA). With three players remaining, France via Benjamin Buhr was expected to claim the title. Though he secured the lead twice in this ultimate battle, the highly talented French poker player stuck to 3rd place for 242,390. Romanias Dany Parlafes and Bulgarias Ognyan Dimov subsequently met in the heads-up. Dimov entered the face-to-face clash with a noticeable chip lead over his opponent. And after 117 hands, Dany Parlafes could not do more but consoling himself with the second-place prize of 338,700. After Deauville, the EPT will make another stop in Malta from March 17 to 28, in the poker room of Portomaso Casino.
