Rick Salomon secures chipleaders place of the final table - Big One For One Drop
The Big One For One Drop (BOFOD) is a non-profit poker event whose benefits will directly go to Guy Lalibertés One Drop Foundation. Introduced in 2012 on the World Series Of Poker (WSOP) circuit, the $ 1 million buy-in Big One For One Drop tournament had attracted nearly forty players in which the Iranian poker player Antonio Esfandiari emerged victorious and won $ 18,346,673 of prize. This summer, the Big One For One Drop is back at Rio-Las Vegas as Event #57 in the WSOP 2014. 56 players were expected to compose the field but only 42 responded to the call, generating a prizepool of over $ 40 million. Many poker enthusiast-businessmen like Tom Hall, Rick Salomon and Guy Laliberté himself took part in this second edition of the Big One For One Drop tournament. Top players like the defending BOFOD champion Antonio Esfandiari, Sam Trickett, Phil Ivey, David Sands, Daniel Negreanu, Erik Seidel, Isaac Haxton, John Juanda, Daniel Cates and Scott Seiver also participated in the race.
After two days of battle, nine players were qualified for the final table. Rick Salomon is the chipleader with 23,570,000 chips at hands; he is followed by Tobias Reinkemeier (22,825,000), Daniel Colman (22,625,000), Daniel Negreanu (20,700, 000), Cary Katz (9,125,000), Scott Seiver (8,250,000), Tom Hall (7,775,000), Christoph Vogelsang (7,075,000) and Paul Newey (4,050,000). Eight paid places are guaranteed in this poker tournament, including a prize of $ 15,306,668 for the winner while the first eliminated one in ITM will collect $ 1,306,607. In addition to the prize, the No.1 winner will also be offered the famous Maison Richard Mille bracelet. Fully made of white gold incrusted with titane inserts and water-drop shaped 0.77 carat diamond in the middle, this bracelet looks like the famous extra-flat Rm 033 of the brand.
