Online poker: Facebook allows advertising
Social networking is undoubtedly the quickest and most effective way to convey information or to advertise worldwide. Facebook is one of the most widely used social networks at the moment and we find various commercials on its interface. But since December 2009, the dissemination of publicity related to poker and other online gambling was strictly forbidden on the site. In truth, this has not impacted the market of online poker but it must be admitted that it lead to slow a little its development. Facebook recently changed its policy on advertising and now it is allowed to broadcast a commercial about online gambling on the site. In France, more than 500,000 Internet users have accounts on poker websites. So with this new authorization, operators of online gambling and poker can promote further their activities and its benefits.
Advertising for poker games, lotteries, bingo or sports betting is allowed only if you have the agreement of Facebook and the game should be legal according to the law, that is to say that its practice is regulated. Advertisements from Great Britain will be accepted by the site with the word "play for fun" while those destined for the United States is currently prohibited. This information should make happy operators of online poker because Zynga poker of Facebook has over 20 million players.
