IPPA Championship: Launching of the most expensive tournament in the world
The International Poker Players Association (IPPA) has just launched on the circuit a tournament of poker out of the common. This new little unusual tournament has for peculiarity a buy-in fixed to $250,000 and a $12 millions prizepool of which $5 millions will go to the winner and $2.5 millions to the second. Numerous stages of qualification are in the program of this live tournament. Cyprus will welcome from the 13th till the 17th of September the first stage of this crazy bet launched by International Poker Players Association (IPPA). The tournament will be played in several levels; the first one is the qualification in a $1,800 shootout tournament which will allow players to reach the next stage, a $12,800 re-buy tournament. A third qualification will be organized if necessary, before reaching in an intermediate finale.
The winner of this little final will be awarded of a $250,000 ticket allowing an entrance for the final tournament "IPPA Championship" which will be the poker event the most expensive in the world. Cyprus and his casino were not accidentally chosen by chance for this premiere because big names of poker will be present there on the occasion because of the World Poker Tour Cyprus tournament held there and many of them will participate in this inaugural stage. The participation of some players renowned are already announced like Sue, Waggoner, Zewin, Baxter, Brown, Deeb, Flack, Habib, Ho, Kim, Leonidas, Lisandro, Scotty Nguyen and Ruffigo. The success of this tournament will depend on the influx of stars of poker but also on its media coverage.
