EPT San Remo: Ludovic Lacay won the Main Event
797 players were at the start of the Main Event of the European Poker Tour San Remo but in the last day, they were only eight players to compete for the title. The Main Event of the EPT San Remo ended then with the victory of the French Ludovic Lacay after a head's up against the chipleader of the day, the Canadian Jason Lavallee. After six final tables on the international circuit and a victory in the Barriere Poker Tour Toulouse in 2009, Ludovic Lacay wins finally his first major title with this victory in San Remo. Ludovic Lacay pocketed a bracelet and 745,000 after the deal while Jason Lavallee settled with 538,000 for his runner-up place.
The final table started with the 8 survivors of the previous day, but they were eliminated one by one until there were only two players on the table. The German Ismael Bojang was the first player eliminated from the final table followed shortly after by the Polish Adrian Piasecki. Both players left the table with 65,450 and 96,000. Micah Raskin was the next and pocketed 132,000 for his 6th place. Former chipleader of the Main Event, the Irishman Jason Tompkins fell at the 5th place while still pocketing 171,000. The Italian Angelo Recchia and the Russian Artem Litvinov finished the final in fourth ( 225,000) and third place ( 283,000).
