DSO Marrakesh Winter 2011: Victory of Clement Bonin
Last week, while the eyes of some poker fans were glued at the Belgian Poker Series and Epic Poker League which experienced the coronation of Michael Gathy and Chris Klodnicki, Morocco received the DSO Marrakesh Winter 2011. This step out of France, held in Marrakesh, in Es Saadi Casino from December 15 to 19 marked the end of the DeepStack Open Season 2. Many players from all over Europe traveled to compete in the 550 buy-in Main Event for 3 days. The final table was composed of nine players : Clement Bonin, Franck Caron, Rachid Bouanaka, Ali Hocine, the winner of the WPT Marrakesh Mohamed Ali Houssam, Imran Fouiden, Ludovic Colombel, Pascal Willemin and Karim Bennani Smires. But in the end, it was the French Clement "Le_Klem" Bonin who won the DSO on a field made up of 226 players. He pocketed for this purpose the equivalent of 24,416 or Dirhams 275,900 dedicated for the winner.
After a head's up against the French, the Moroccan Imran Fouiden occupied the place of runner-up and leaves the tournament with 14,867. In the third place, we find Frank Caron, Pascal Willemin, Rachid Bouanaka, Mohamed Ali Houssam, Ali Hocine, Ludovic Colombel and Karim Bennani Smires. The three podium positions were also rewarded with free DSO package of one year for the season 2012. The DSO season 2 is a real success for the organizers if we consider the number of players who participated in the tournament and came in the poker room where the meetings were held. Indeed, 3,000 players from all over Europe participated in the events of the Season 2 that took place in Lloret de Mar, Cannes, Malta, Vienna and Marrakesh.
