WPT Festa Al Lago: And another title for Randal Flowers
After a firts victory in the World Poker Tour circuit (WPT) in Barcelona in 2009, Mark Randal Flowers has actually acquired all the essential criteria to join the leaders at the age of 20 years. Even if the WPT Barcelona 2009 hasn't recorded a great success, but by winning the prestigious WPT Festa Al Lago Bellagio, the big poker event in Las Vegas this week, Flowers confirmed his immense talent and great competence as a poker pro. He finished then as leading of a large field of 335 players including several professionals like Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Men Nguyen. Despite the threat of Obrestad, the star of the casino since Day 4, Flowers fight off and was awarded of the place of chip leader at the final day.
So he started the final table with this advantage and dominated the game despite the struggle led by his last opponents Noah Schwartz and Michael Benvenuti, who ended up respectively at the 2nd and 3rd place. Skip Wilson was the first victim of this final table, followed by Andy Frankenberger. Flowers was thus on a right way to complete a historic double by confronting Michael Benvenuti on the final heads'up consisting of 14 hands. And with a worthy performance of a true poker pro, the young American was awarded the honorary title of youngest player holding several trophies of the WPT. With the first prize of $ 831,500 won during the WPT Festa Al Lago 2010, Flowers is currently recording gains of $ 1,800,000 in tournaments.
