EFOP Diamond Championship: Ktorza dominates the Day 1

After the Bronze, the Silver and the Gold Championship, the European Finals of Poker (EFOP), terminates this series of tournament in joy with the Diamond Championship which will be the main event of this tournament with a buy-in of € 5,000. The first day of this major poker tournament was held last Thursday with the participation of many local players as well as foreign competitors like the Canadian Jonathan Duhamel among others. Compared to the turnout in previous Diamond Championship, it was estimated that a large number of players would participate in this event but at the end, 109 players came at the Aviation Club de France. As a reminder, the year 2011 was marked by the victory of Natalia Nikitina face to a field of 187 players. Hugo Lemaire won the edition 2010, a year during which 141 players were registered.



The Diamond Championship of the EFOP 2012 hosted 109 players and at the end of Day 1, Philippe Ktorza took the chip lead with 117,000 chips face to Idris Ambraisse and his 114,000 chips. In the third place, we find Aubin Cazals (112,000 tokens), followed by Shannon Shorr (89,000), Jerome Naye (87,900), Jean-Noel Thorel (80,000), Zimnan Ziyard (77,000), Bruno Benveniste (75,700), Basil Yaiche (74,700) and Franck Delmas (68,000) who composed the Top 10 of the first day. At the end of the day, only 58 players were qualified for the Day 2. The day was also marked by the elimination of Guillaume Darcourt, Jean Philippe Rohr and Rebecca Gerin. At this event which will last four days, the prize pool will be distributed to the first fifteen places with € 119,440 for the winner and € 93,190 for the runner up.
