WPT Five Diamond: Victory of James Dempsey

Following a final table made up of top players, James Dempsey won the championship of the World Poker Tour Doyle Brunson Five Diamond. It took only 126 hands for Dempsey to win the trophy. He managed to eliminate the November Nine of the World Series of Poker 2010, Soi Nguyen during the final heads'up. This latter, who failed to capitalize his advantage as chipleader at the start of the final table ended then the tournament in the place of runner up with a prize of $ 517,478. As for the champion, who just completed his second live feat in his career after his WSOP 2010 title, pocketed the top prize of $ 821,612 including a ticket of $ 25,000 to enter in the WPT Bellagio.



Note that fans of the defending champion Antonio Esfandiari present in the poker room hoped for a historic double. Unfortunately, their hero has not been able to achieve this feat and got eliminated in the 6th place. The WPT Jacksonville finalist, Victor Coelho and Andrew Lichtenberger also joined the bench of removed and placed in the 5th and 4th spot. Known for her talents as a very good woman poker player, Vanessa Selbst also had to settle for the bronze place with a reward of $ 338,351. As a reminder, this tenth edition of the WPT Five Diamonds brought together 413 players who have paid a buy-in of $ 10,000 generating a prize pool of $ 4 million.
