Asia Pacific Poker Tour: Victory of Randy Lew

The Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) crowned a new champion in the person of Randy Lew alias Nanonoko. The event brought together 575 participants composed of many well known players in the world of live and online poker as Alex Kravchenko, Maxim Lykov and Johnny Chan. The presence of Phil Ivey on the gaming tables after long months of absence also marked the tournament. Despite this field, the 26-year Canadian, regular of cash game tournaments, managed to win. Randy Lew began the final table with a short stack. But with his patience and perseverance, he stood up to the eight other competitors of the final and had access to the final duel between him and Jimmy Pan. After this confrontation, Lew took over the APPT Macau trophy which is his best ranking of his live career. For this victory, Randy Lew won a first prize of about $ 480,000.



Note also that the APPT Macau recorded a prize pool of $ HKD 15,552,600 and the top 70 players were eligible for the reward. Among the poker stars who had access to be paid up are Johnny Chan, Joseph Cheong, Mark Vos, Alex Kravchenko and Max Lykov. At the 9th place is the Asian player David Steicke who won the runner up place in the Epic Poker League tournament. The third place went back to the Australian Jeff Rossiter. Germany's Fabian Spielmann, Chinese Zuo Wang, Singapore Kai Fam Yat, the Swede Daniel Nordstrom and the other Singaporean player Tan Tai Zheng finished respectively 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th.
