Global Poker Index: Bertrand Grospellier moved up to the second position

The last update of the international ranking of poker, Global Poker Index (GPI), lead to a big change. Indeed, the French number one, Bertrand Grospellier holder of 2,509.48 points was able to access to the second position, surpassing Jason Mercier, who is ranked third and Eugene Katchalov (4th). Fabrice Soulier, Matt Waxmann and Scott Seiver won each a place and are respectively in the 8th, 9th and 10th position, while Juha Helppi came out of the Top 10, losing three places. Erik Seidel still stayed in the first place with 2,586, 96 points. The three players who are respectively in the 5th, 6th and 7th place are Shawn Buchanan, Sorel Mizzi and Sam Stein. Several major live tournaments were held last week like the WPT World Poker Finals for $ 10,000, which almost led to some changes in the GPI list.

Some players made good achievements in the WPT Foxwoods like the two finalist Christian Harder and Andy Frankenberger also recorded a nice progression. After their exploits at the European Poker Tour San Remo and the Casino Austria Poker Tour Baden, Bryn Kenney, Vanessa Russo, Phil Gruissem, Florian Langmann, Mike McDonald and Sam Stein also gained a few places. Note that 10 French players are currently in the top 100 like Roger Hairabedian who is at the 27 th place, David Benyamine 50 th, Ludovic Lacay 83 th and Guillaume Darcourt 95 th.
