Caesars Cup 2011: The trophy won by Team USA

Defeated in 2009, the U.S. team led by the great Phil Hellmuth took its revenge at the Caesars Cup 2011. Indeed, this poker tournament between the European team and the U.S. team gave its verdict on October 19 and crowned American players as champion. Note that Daniel Negreanu, Johnny Chan, Ben Lamb and Jason Mercier were the members of the team that achieve this feat. The Americans did a good run as well, which allowed them to win the trophy. During the head's up held prior the 4th day of the WSOPE Main event, Jason Mercier and Ben Lamb managed to evict Jake Cody and Tony G. The players began the confrontation with the same stack and the same hands.

But Europeans didn't let easily be overcome and they were able to equalize when Gus Hansen and Max Lykov faced the duo Hellmuth and Negreanu. But it must be said that the U.S. team was ready to win the cup. Thus, after the match between Johnny Chan and the captain of the European team, Bertrand Grospellier, the Americans took over. Johnny Chan has once again shown that he's a formidable opponent. The final blow was the victory of Phil Hellmuth against Max Lykov. Poker Brat prove his status as one of the best poker players in this pretty hectic duel. The second edition of the Caesars Cup tournament closed therefore with an American victory and the trophy will belong to them for another 2 years.
