EPT London: A lower turnout observed

The main event of the European Poker Tour London (EPT) began a few days ago and in total, 691 players registered to attend the event. Thus, this edition 2011 decreased in attendance compared to that last year which brought together 848 participants. However, this participation rate generated a prize pool of £ 3,351,350 which will be shared between the 104 best players and for the champion, a nice prize of £ 750,000 wait him. On Day 1A, 280 players were registered for the tournament and at the end of the day, the player from Poland Lukasz Golzyt succeeded to climb to the lead with 211,600 chips in hand. Poker legend Doyle Brunson was also present in the poker room of the Hilton Metropole at the Day 1A. And he is still among the 170 players in the race for the rest of the competition.

The second qualifying day started with a field of 411 participants. And at the end of the competition, it remained only 255 survivors on Day 2. Several well known players were present in this field and many of them were qualified for Day 2like Jason Mercier, Joe Hachem, Victor Ramdim, Marc Inizan, Roger Hairabedian, Fabrice Soulier, Eric Haik and David Williams. But they are also likely to have experienced an early exit as Vanessa Selbst, Daniel Negreanu, Bertrand Grospellier, Liv Boeree, or Daniel Cates.
