Global Poker Index: A fantastic ascent for Will Failla

Each week the rankings of the Global Poker Index (GPI) is updated according to the performances of players in various tournaments on the professional circuit. After the WPT Borgata, Malta and the Partouche Poker Tour of the past three weeks, there's only a small change in the GPI's Top 10. The only significant changes in the 10 best poker players is the next coming of Juha Helppi in the 9th place, relegating Daniel Negreanu in the 11th place. The Finn realized a leap forward following his well-deserved 15th place in the Partouche Poker Tour. At the top of the table, there is always Erik Seidel (2,604.55 points) followed closely by Jason Mercier, Eugene Katchalov, Bertrand Grospellier, Sorel Mizzi, Fabrice Soulier, Tom Marchese, Scott Seiver, Juha Helppi and Shawn Buchanan who close the Top 10 of this week.

Among the 300 ranked players in the GPI, Will Failla is the player to follow with around 60 seats gained since the last World Series of Poker. Failla is currently in the 16th place while he was on the 77th of the GPI two months ago. Other players excelled during the past two months like Phil Hellmuth (23rd) and Eric Froelich (30th) who respectively won ten and twenty places in the standings. Sam Trickett, titled at the British Poker Award, won 54 seats and is 32nd in the standings followed by Roger Hairabedian (36th). These tournaments have also boosted Ludovic Lacay (75th), Giuseppe Pantaleo (111th) and Tristan Clemencon (143rd), winning nearly 100 seats in the GPI.
