The crowning of the Italian Poker Tour Nova Gorica (IPT) champion took place finally after four days of competition. And the victory was awarded to Oleksii Kovalchuk. After the third day of competition held in the beautiful poker room of Nova Gorica casino, the eight players who completed the final table of the IPT Nova Gorica tournament stood out. The Ukrainian Vitali Minakov was placed in the lead with 1,671,000 chips in hand. The champion of the IPT Campione, Domenico Cordi, was in a position to win the title for his country by holding the second position. But even if Italy was well represented during the final, its natives wasn't able to keep the title.

Indeed, apart from Domenico Cordi, the hope of the local public also relied on Marco Leonzio who already have several cashes in the European Poker Tour circuit (EPT), Luca Moschitta who is a professional of online poker and has also made great achievements in major tournaments as his 13th place in the IPT San Remo in 2009 or his 14 th place in the IPT Nova Gorica in 2010, David Zampini and also Gianfranco Mazzariello. Unfortunately, none of them managed to win the trophy. Luca Moschitta tried to resist but finally, the Ukrainian Kovalchuk ousted him in the final duel and was awarded the first prize of € 150,000. Note that the young champion won his first World Series of Poker bracelet this year during the $ 2,500 NL Hold'em Six Max. The native of Bulgaria, Viliyan Petleshkov was also among the finalist.
