Jason Mercier: Maintained at the top of the GPI ranking

The Global Poker Index (GPI) is a world ranking that determines the best players according to a wide number of parameters: the results, the buy-in of each event, the number of tournaments they participated... The world rankings of the best players in the world is as a reminder updated weekly and based on past performance of players at various tournaments that were held before the moth of September. For the beginning of this month, the head of the ranking hasn't changed with Jason Mercier at the first place followed by another American player, Erik Seidel and the French champion Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier. With over six million dollars winnings in live tournament, the 24-year-old American deserved well his leadership position because he was recently awarded the title of International Best Player during the fifth edition of Poker in the Park held last weekend in London. Also this year, Jason Mercier won a WSOP bracelet and accumulated a gain of over $ 1,500,000.

Jason Mercier and Erik Seidel kept the top two spots of the podium ahead of Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, despite his outstanding performance at the start of this year. In the third place is so the French, Bertrand Grospellier. This professional player currently has more than $ 8,000,000 and is one of the greatest poker players in the world. ElkY won in 2011 a total earnings of $ 2,087,000 with a WSOP bracelet in the $ 10,000 Seven Card Stud Championship.
