The hope of Spanish poker enthusiasts flew in the night of Thursday to Friday, September 1st because none of their representatives has been able to win the title of the European Poker Tour Barcelona (EPT). Indeed, it was the German Martin Schleich who finally emerged victorious from the wide field of 811 participants and was awarded the trophy and the huge prize of € 850,000. Now this 29-years-old player is part of poker players holding a major title, if before, he was in the shade. However, it is not his first good performance in live tournaments as he has already managed to integrate twice the list of paid places of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure and has also won a place paid of the EPT San Remo.

But the Ukrainian player, Eugene Katchalov also saw his dreams of winning a triple crown to volatilize when he was eliminated in the third place during this final. However, he started the day as chip leader. His third place let him still earned a reward of € 315,000. The French woman Isabel Baltazar was the first to give up this final with eight players. And despite her defeat, she has just accomplished a great feat by reaching successfully the final table. Juan Manuel Perez, Saar Wilf, Tomeu Gomila and Raul Mestre ranked respectively 7th, 6th, 5th and 4th. And after being ousted by Schleich during the final duel, Dragan Kostic was awarded the second place of the podium of the poker room of Barcelona casino and pocketed for this performance the sum of € 532,000.
