WPT Legends of Poker Championship: A great tournament with a little buy-in
This Thursday, August 25 will be held at Bicycle Casino in Las Vegas the WPT Legends of Poker Championship, which is part of the third stage of the World Poker Tour 2011. The WPT Legends of Poker Championship 2011 will effectively take place until August 30, 2011 with a buy-in of $ 3,500 + 200. For fans of the WPT Legends of Poker, they will probably notice the large decrease of the buy-in compared to previous years. For its tenth edition, it will offer the lowest buy-in of the last ten years with less than $ 5,000. Between 2002 - 2005 and last year, the buy-in of the tournament was $ 5,000 and between 2006 and 2009, fees rose to $ 10,000. This surge in buy-in was probably the cause of the decrease of participants in recent years. With a registration fee of $ 3,500 + 200, organizers plan to gather at Bicycle Casino hundreds of players during the six days of competition.
The WPT Legends of Poker Championship 2011 is also different by the possibility of re-entry for the Day 1B in case of elmination on Day 1A. With the re-entry, the amount of the prize pool will be maintained at its highest level, guaranteeing the level of competition. Participants will compete for the final place during the first five days. On Tuesday, August 30, the grand final will take place with a TV coverage.
