Jason Mercier: The new No. 1 of Global Poker Index ranking

Global Poker Index, the global ranking of poker professionals continues to give news after the various tournaments held around the world. After the Epic Poker League, this ranking that takes into account several criteria such as buy-in of $ 1,500 minimum, gains, or the number of participants in an event, has been modified again. If Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, currently on holiday, monopolized the title for several months before the first step of the Epic Poker League, by being just ahead of Jason Mercier with a few points, Jason Mercier and Erik Seidel took the opportunity to take the first two places of the GPI. The performance of these two Americans were in fact very remarkable during the first stage of the Epic Poker League Season 1. Mercier was third in the tournament while Erik Seidel was the runner up. Thus, the French was relegated to the third place with 100 points less than the new leader.

The new Global Poker Index ranking place then Jason Mercier in the first position with 2,654.92 points, followed respectively, by Erik Seidel (2,575.26 points), Bertrand Grospellier (2,507.85 points), Eugene Katchalov (2,378.44 points), Fabrice Soulier (2,193.59 points), Samuel Stein (2,168.85 points ), Sorel Mizzi (2,115.12 points), Thomas Marchese (2,097.10 points), David Baker (2,027.32 points) and John Juanda (2,013.63 points). But with the number of tournaments scheduled in the coming months, Bertrand Grospellier should easily regain his leading position.
