Epic Poker League: Steve o'Dwyer shined in the Pro/Am tournament

As foretold, Jeffrey Pollack and d'Annie Duke’s Epic Poker League really begun. And the Pro/Am, the opening tournament which gathered amateurs and professional poker players at Palms Resort Hotel poker room announced its verdict. Among a field of 189 players attending this first Pro/Am tournament, Steve O'Dwyer was able to win the title with $23,810 as reward and a ticket for the Main Event of $20,000 buy-in, starting from today. Note that thanks to his talent to play poker, O'Dwyer ranked 129th in the Global Poker Index (GPI) classification. Three weeks ago, he won the Bellagio Cup VII No-Limit Hold'em tournament of $5, 000, indeed, that allowed him to pocket $259, 456. And also, he compiled 11 paid places in the World Series of Poker and three silver places in the World Poker Tour, and also his sixth position during the Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World poker Classic, 2009 that got him winning $202,362 in total.

Thanks to this new achievement, Steve o'Dwyer will win then, many points in the GPI and he will be able to exceed David Rheem who is placed at the 128th place at the moment, Justin Smith (127th) or Shaun Deeb (116th), Erik Lindgren (114th) and David Williams (109th). But concerning the Pro/Am tournament, note that O'Dwyer leads the game during this televised final table between six players among whom we found Andy Bloch who ranked at the third position. The champion title was awarded finally to o'Dwyer. The public still expect a such good result from him during the Main Event.
