GUKPT Goliath: A big meeting at Ricoh Arena
The head office of the Coventry Football Club, in the heart of the Ricoh Arena stadium, in the West Midlands region will be transformed into a poker room to accommodate the Grosvernor United Kingdom Poker Tour Goliath (GUKPT) which will run from August 24 to 28, 2011. The GUKPT Goliath's ambition is to become the biggest European tournament that brought together the biggest field because indeed, the organizers hope to attract at least 1,600 participants. The buy-in for the main event is set at 120 pounds and it will have a guaranteed prizepool of £ 100,000. During this tournament, competitors will play No-Limit Hold'em poker that will have a structure of a deepstack tournament. There will be 25,000 starting chips for levels of play of 40 minutes.
The GUKPT Goliath will be an opportunity for amateur and poker professional to test their knowledge. Moreover, the stakes are big because the champion will collect a bonus of £ 25,000. But a special offer is available during the tournament. In fact, players can form a team and can participate in a competition per group. The teams will compete on gaming tables and their points will be awarded according to their competence. Players who manage to finish in the money list and the team that will record the highest number of points will have access to the edition 2012. They will also receive a trophy and a package of £ 1,000 to participate in private online poker tournaments. Note that by participating in the GUKPT Goliath, poker fans will also support a charity because, 25% of registration fees collected in the tournament will be awarded to Marie Curie Cancer Care Association, an organization that leads a fight against cancer.
