The event brought together a quite big field of 1,378 participants. Many representatives of France were part of this event and some of them, like Ludovic Riehl, Ronan Collet and Gabriel Nassif reached the paid places. Benjamin Pollack and Anthony Lellouche also defended well the French flag with their skills to play poker because they finished respectively in the 9th and 10th place. For his fine performance, the Ukrainian pocketed a gain of $ 689,739 and his first bracelet. He ousted Ionel Anton on the final duel and the third is Britain's Chris Moorman.

A nice atmosphere was also observed in the other the poker room of Rio as part of the Event # 27, a Limit Hold'em Championship of $ 10,000. It was a Canadian from Vancouver, Daniel Idema, who came out as winner from a field of 152 participants. He took his revenge after having been runner up of the same event last year. Note also that this is his fifth WSOP paid place. During the final battle, Idema didn't have an easy course because he had as opponents formidable players like Barry Greenstein who finished third, Steve Lanfish (4th), Justin Smith (6th), Isaac Haxton (7th) or Nick Schulman (9th).
