Paris: The cercle Wagram closed as the Club Eldo

After the recent closure of the cercle Haussmann on May 23, 2011, two other gaming circles of Paris also met the same fate. Indeed, the police closed one by one the cercle Wargram and the Club Eldo. As a reminder, the opening and operation of gaming circles in France are governed by the Finance Act of June 30, 1923. This law states that during one year, operators can offer their service to fans of poker and other gambling legally. However, they must follow regulations regarding the compensation of their employees for example. After this first year of operation, they must send a request to reopen by presenting a strong case highlighting the ability of the gaming circle to continue its activities for the years to come.

But the closing of the cercle Wargram is linked to criminal cases, including "extortion," "money laundering" or "conspiracy". As during the police raid at the cercle Haussmann, a seizure of funds of the establishment and tokens of players on the poker tables were held at the cercle Wargram. Currently, those who like playing poker in this type of circle have no choice but to join the poker room of the Aviation Club de France, the cercle Cadet, the cercle Clishy-Montmartre, the cercle Gaillon or the cercle Central. However, the monthly 1,000 € buy-in poker tournament of the cercle Wargram already become a meeting place for regulars.
