The difficult course of free poker league initiated at the beginning by the Corporation of Saloon Owners, Taverns and Breweries of Quebec and Loto-Quebec, and reinforced by the Association of Tournament Poker Players as well as the management entity Gestion Poker Tour is now bearing fruit. Indeed, after the various passed obstacles like the reluctance of professional players and owners of property or the research and the training for directors of local tournaments, not to mention the difficulties of managing the territory, the results are indeed there. First there is the growing number of institutions that adhered to the principle, estimated at 300 which produces some 2,200 monthly tournaments. Thus, they are actually more than 38,000 members, a league and a well based structure that allowed players to offer the best seats to the WSOP and other tournaments locally and globally.

Subsequently, the League joined with the Maritimes and Ontario. It even found an agreement with an online poker room to let members to compete on the Internet. But LTPQ leaders are not ready to stop there. As recently as last month, the League sealed a new agreement with Espacejeux none other than the online poker site operated by Loto-Quebec. Moreover, following numerous requests from members, it announced that the League is now able to organize a series of tournaments with real money for a buy-in of $ 100. In short, the League officials would like to achieve its goal, that of allowing anyone to play poker near his town while to have the opportunity to win prizes.
