EPT San Remo: 438 participants for Day 1A

When Thomas Kremser said the famous words "Shuffle up and deal", the 438 competitors who invaded the poker room of the casino of San Remo to participate in the Day 1A of the tournament European Poker Tour San Remo (EPT) started the game. Many poker stars were part of this wide field of the first qualifying day of the tournament like Pieter de Korver, JP Kelly, Victor Blom, the EPT Vienna champion Michael Eiler, in search of a second victory and the former champions of the EPT Anton Wigg, Aaron Gustavson, Jake Cody and Joao Barbosa. On the French side, Arnaud Mattern, Lucille Cailly, Hugo Lemaire, Marion Nedellec, Marc Inizan, Celine Bastian, Erik Haik, Gilbert Diaz and also Stéphane Albertini were present.



After nine levels of game lasting one hour each, that first day ended with 211 survivors for the Day 2. Nicolas Cardyn, Anthony Picault, Pierre Canali, Paul Pire Trigo and Ludovic Lacay played very well during this Day 1A and they'll be back for the second day of competition with a stack exceding 80,000. The chip leader of the day is the champion of a side event of the EPT Berlin 2010 Leonid Bilokur, who will begin the Day 2 with a big stack of 187,900 chips. Note that the second qualifying day began this Thursday and many stars were expected to participate. The champion of last year, Liv Boerree, will be certainly part of the event to defend her title.
