« La Tueuse »: Release on DVD of the film on April 20
Rodolphe Tissot's film « La Tueuse » which highlights the downside of addiction to gambling, like poker will be released on DVD from April 20, 2011, after a year of broadcasting on movie theater and television. The outstanding theme treated in this French film excellently played by Adrienne Pauly is unfortunately another facet of this intellectual and strategic discipline. As synopsis, Mathilde, a young woman of about thirty years, has an employment problem even with a nursing degree. In love and pregnant by a man, she has only one alternative, poker a game that she know perfectly, that's what her nickname « La Tueuse » (the killer) for her outstanding performance in front of her opponents on gaming table, but this notoriety brings the player into the wrong direction, that is to depend too munch on poker, something that will bring bad consequences to her life.
In fact, to explain this change, psychiatrists who studied the problem of addiction to games, including poker, talk about the predisposition of some players, compared to others, who do not distinguish age groups or environments. Therefore, the boundless passion for playing poker, like all other games could be fatal for any person suffering from addiction. And in the health status, the extreme passion to play on tables is caused by hormone of pleasure named dopamine. Statistically, 5% of French poker players are suffering from gambling addiction.
