The 2011 edition of the European Poker Tour Berlin (EPT) has just ended peacefully even if a drop in attendance compared to last year's edition was observed. The bad memories of the robbery in 2010 but also the sequence of poker tournaments of the same kind could be explained as the cause. Nevertheless, the 773 players who came to play poker in Spielbank casino offered to the public a sensational show. Indeed, during the days of competition, action has always been present on the gaming tables. After the Day 3, which ended with the elimination of many French players, the final table finally started on Sunday, April 10. Any French player has been admitted to the list of finalists because Fabsoul, the last hope of the Hexagon was eliminated in the 11th place.

The Canadian Ben Wilinofsky, a great online poker player, chip leader since the beginning of the final, won then the title of this EPT on German soil. He kept his advantage until the end of the tournament and qualified until the final duel that opposed him with the German Max Heinzelmann, a confrontation that he achieved with brilliance. The talent and perseverance of Martin Jacobson, the Swedes in search of a victory for his third final table in an EPT event and the efforts of other opponents were not sufficient to block the road of Wilinofsky, qualified on an online poker room for this tournament. Thus, he was crowned champion of the EPT Berlin 2011 after having ousted Heinzelmann at the final heads'up, was awarded the handsome gain of € 825,000 and the EPT bracelet.
