Wynn Classic Las Vegas: Annette Obrestad on the podium again

The young Norwegian Annette Obrestad aka Annette_15 experienced a sudden popularity in the poker world with her extraordinary feat in the inaugural World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE). She then made several good courses in various major poker tournaments and her last great achievement reach back in September 2010, when she won the Heads'Up championship tournament of £ 5,000 during the European Poker Tour London. Since that date, she didn't recorded a great success. But last Saturday, this period of bad luck just quit her because Annette_15 managed to climb onto the podium of the poker room of Wynn Casino in Las Vegas. Obrestad indeed won the second place of the main tournament of $ 5,000 at Wynn Classic Las Vegas, a tournament series that meets yearly top players.

The field of this 2011 edition was also composed of many elites as Billy Kopp, who finished 12th, Men Ngyen (11th) or Phil Hellmuth (19th). Note that 212 players were registered for this event. Thus, Obrestad once again played well in poker because she managed to qualify into the list of finalists composed of King Carter, Matthew Waxman, Tim West and Eric Froehlich. She was close to victory but Tim West was much luckier and after an impressive duel Annette_15 finished only in the second place of the podium but she won a gain of $ 215,922 while the champion Tim West pocketed $ 318,738. This new achievement enabled the young Norwegian to supplement her tournament earnings to $ 4 million.
